Sana is an Arabic name that means "brilliance, radiance, splendor".

This necklace features an exquisite handcrafted sterling silver and gold pendant from Oman. The chased and punched designs are mostly floral and geometric patterns accentuated with silver granulation and applied motifs. Traditional filigree work borders the circumference of this elaborate pendant. It displays the rich and ornate silversmith techniques indigenous to this area.

Three strands of black and white faceted three-eye Agate beads are interspersed with hexagonal brass beads from Ghana. Eye Agate gets its name from its design which mimics the eye. Various forms of “eye” beads have been worn by different cultures and in popular myths and legends, these types of beads are said to protect the wearer and ward off evil or curses.

In general, Agates are associated with strength and are believed to provide protection from bad dreams, stress and energy drains. They were prized gems in antiquity and have been used in jewellery since Biblical Babylonian times. Whether you believe in these apparent powers or not, one cannot fail to be mesmerised by the captivating patterns and beauty of these beads.

These beads are personally sourced by Shikha during her travels around the world and this statement necklace is assembled in her studio.
