Antassia Beaded Bag: Red and Charcoal
Intricately beaded and expertly assembled by hand - these pouches catch the glimmer of the northern Kenyan sun where they are crafted by the Maasai women who reside there. This project is spearheaded by Antonia Stogdale, who reinterprets the beading skills passed on through generations into modern creations for a Western market. Her philosophy is to preserve the Maasai way of life by harnessing the beading skills of the women, something which does not interfere with their other household duties, but builds a sustainable source of income for the women and their families.
