An ancient sumptuous silk brocade, himroo, has been alive for 2500 years in India until mechanized knock-offs brought it to the edge of extinction. Now, a monumental revival project in the city of Aurangabad is bringing the prized hand-weaving back to life. Ibu jumped at the chance to be a part of it. COVID-19 took a bite out of the project, but all persisted to bring this proud new offering to you.
Stylist Tip: The complex design is woven by hand in a soft coral and off-white silk, constructed and lined to a fitted silhouette. The kimono can be dressed up or down - from jeans to a slim skirt. Larger floral design available versus what the model is wearing.
